Registered Sex Offenders In Maryland Cited For Violating Registry Rules

Three registered sex offenders are facing new charges in Maryland for allegedly violating the conditions behind their release after being placed on the state's sex offender registry.

An alert was issued by the Frederick County Sheriff on Wednesday, Nov. 2, regarding a trio of offenders who found themselves back in trouble with the law for various violations last month.

“As a result of ongoing monitoring of registered sex offenders in Frederick County, in October the Sheriff’s Office charged the following registered sex offenders with violating conditions associated with being placed on the sex offender registry,” according to the agency.

Each of the three facing new charges has had warrants issued for their arrest that have absconded:

  • Michael Lee Studebaker, 50, was charged with failure to notify of an address change, with a warrant issued on Tuesday, Oct. 11;
  • James Robert Rollins, Jr., 39, was charged with failure to register as a Tier III sex offender with a warrant issued on Wednesday, Oct. 12;
  • Jarvis Jerome Dorsey, 41, was charged with failure to register as a Tier III sex offender with a warrant issued on Monday, Oct. 31.
